How laser therapy works:

Laser hair therapy treats hair loss and regrows hair by stimulating the scalp, increasing blood flow and blocking the harmful hair loss effects of Dihydrotestoterone, also known as DHT. DHT is a by-product of testosterone that is responsible for making the hair follicles gradually thinner and thinner until the root stops producing hairs. Once that hair follicle is gone you can never grow hair there again. In many cases, right before the hair dies it becomes vellus hair, meaning it is invisible to the human eye. Vellus hair can be regenerated.

On entering catagen the dermal papilla condenses as the cells become inactive. With a lack of dermal papilla cell stimulation, the hair fiber and root sheaths stop growing. When a new hair growth cycle starts the hair follicle regrows but it does not grow as big as it was previously. Becuase it is smaller, the hair follicles now produces a smaller (thinner) hair fiber. This is how we thin and eventually go bald. The laser can reverse this miniaturization by safely increasing the blood supply to the hair follicle.
